Colours – green, white, black – The colour green has been used as it represents a clean earth and recycling, which is the brand’s message. It also reinforces the name of the brand, ‘GreenPeace’.

The logo is in green (to reinforce the message). The font is in a hand drawn style. I believe this was done to create the idea that anyone can contribute the saving the planet, and is available to all. It also gives the brand a realistic feel, conveying the message that it is possible to stop the plastic crisis if we all put in work – which can be helped through the website

The home page of the website has a short amount of body copy, which users can click to read the full article. This was done as it intrigues viewers, and allows them to understand what the articles will be speaking about. It also does not provide too much information at once which could potentially bore viewers.

This is the image on the home screen. Whilst it provides a shock factor to viewers, it immediately informs them of the crisis that we are facing regarding plastic waste, and attracts them to do whatever they can to help. As in the media, beaches are typically presented as heavenly and idyllic, this image contrasts to the stereotype as it shows the true horror of the crisis that effects everyone.

One interactive feature is the Donate/Join button at the top of the home page. When you click it, It takes you to the page where you can donate. This feature is clear and easy to understand, showing how it is important to support the site in their mission to solve the plastic crisis.
