Interactive Media 3
interactive products:
- spotify
- snapchat
- tiktok
One interactive feature from Spotify I enjoy is the search aspect. On the mobile app, you can search an artist's name or song, and instantly, you are provided with the song, or similar songs to it. It also provides you with songs and playlists that the software thinks you would enjoy, based off of what you have listened to already. This is enjoyable as it is personalised, and unique to your taste, allowing you to have the best listening experience possible.
Another interactive feature is the commenting feature on TikTok. Not only can you comment on someone's video, but you can view others comments. This interactive tool is especially enjoyable as you can see what others think of a post. Furthermore, you can respond to other people's comments directly. This allows users to share their own opinion on a topic, allowing for collaboration and connectivity.
Graphical User Interface (GUI)
A GUI is a system of interactive visual components for computer software. A GUI displays objects that convey information, and represent actions that can be taken by the user. The objects may change colour, size, or visibility when the user interacts with them.
- icons
- windows
- menus
- mouse cursors
- buttons
- design phase (pre-production, planning, gathering feedback)
- creation phase (making designs)
- testing phase (covers both technical testing from team and client/user testing)
- commercial considerations (sponsorships and advertising space)
these tell the computer what you want it to do, which are often enhanced with sounds or visual effects.
SEO - Search engine optimisation
- the process of getting search results in search engines that aim to match what is needed
- the higher the website is listed, the more people will see it
Good SEO involves many different activities, such as:
- Identifying relevant keywords with good search traffic potential
- Creating high-quality, useful content and optimising it for search engines and for users
- Including relevant links from high-quality sites
- Measuring the results
On Page vs Off Page SEO
- On page: optimises parts of your website that are in control
- Off page: increases authority of your domain (through content creation)
